VCA Animal Care Center of Mt. Juliet has been serving the community since 1985 and joined the VCA family in April 2009. Serving Mt. Juliet, Lebanon, Hermitage, and the rest of the Greater Nashville area at VCA Animal Care Center of Mt. Juliet we look forward to caring for your dogs and cats. Preventive care is our primary focus. We will give you and your pet all the time you need, and we will never rush you through an exam.
Our goal is to make sure our clients are satisfied with the care that their pet is receiving. Our staff is trained to meet your dogs' and cats' needs. We ensure that your pet gets the best and most knowledgeable care that we can offer.

Veterinary School: University of Tennessee, DVM
Dr. Sarah Gordon is originally from Dickson, Tennessee and currently lives in Nashville with her dog Maggie. Dr. Gordon graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine before returning to Middle Tennessee. Dr. Gordon enjoys emergency and critical care and internal medicine. She also loves to spend time outside hiking, running, and biking.
Veterinary School: Auburn University, DVM
Dr. Harris graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in 1971. He then attended Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN and went on to attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville for Pre Vet courses. He graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. He began practicing in Austin, TX before establishing Animal Care Center of Mt. Juliet in 1984. He has enjoyed over 25 years of practice and service in the community.
He has been married to Denise Dollend since 1985 has two children, Drew and Haley.
In his spare time, Dr. Harris is actively involved at church and enjoys all things related to cattle.
Dr. York is from Oologah, Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After graduation she practiced in Oklahoma in private practice and part-time adjunct instructor for small animal elective surgery at Oklahoma State University from 1992 to 2003. She completed a veterinary anatomic pathology residency in 2007. She deployed to Afghanistan as a veterinary Army Reservist from 2008 to 2009. After getting married to Robert Swain and moving to Arkansas she practiced small animal medicine and surgery and provided veterinary pathology services to northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville, A.R until March 2014. She and her husband have seven cats and 5 horses. Dr. York came to our practice April 15, 2014. She supports Wounded Warrior Project and Green Beans Coffee Cup of Joe for a Joe.
Dr. York's special interests are veterinary diagnostics, infectious disease and soft tissue surgery. She says the best part of veterinary medicine is the variation of animal species that might come to a veterinary clinic!
