Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital opened it's doors to serve pets and their owners in 1977. Our hospital is a Certified Member Hospital of the American Animal Hospital Association, a special designation reflecting exceptionally high standards of professional care. These standards were developed in order to raise the bar of veterinary excellence.

The entire staff of Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital is dedicated to providing high quality medical and surgical care to each of our patients. This includes preventive health care, dentistry, ultrasound, laser therapy, pain management and nutritional counseling. Our facility, equipment and techniques are the most modern and up-to-date.

David Tollon, DVM, Owner

Dr. David Tollon is a co-owner of Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital. He earned his degree in veterinary medicine from Ohio State University with a M.S. in Business Administration. Dr. Tollon is committed to creating a great experience for all of his clients and their pets. He also strongly supports up and coming veterinary professionals, and is an instructor for the Veterinary Technology program at St. Petersburg College. In his spare time, Dr. Tollon enjoys swimming, exercising, and spending time with his family.

Lynn Buonasera, DVM

Dr. Lynn Buonasera started seeing clients and pets at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital in 1989. She attended the University of Florida, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Dr. Buonasera loved animals from a young age, and decided she wanted to be a �doggie doctor� as a child. Today, her favorite part of working in the veterinary field is forming strong client-patient-doctor relationships, and helping sick pets regain health. She has professional interests in dentistry, surgery, and occasionally, exotic medicine. At home, she has three cats: May-Li, Tuxie, and Sophie.

Dr. Cheryl Ayscue earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 1999. Originally, Dr. Ayscue was a teacher, and she also received a master�s degree in counseling so she could help children and their families. Innately compassionate, Dr. Ayscue discovered that being a veterinarian is the perfect mix of her previous careers. Today, she is dedicated to supporting her clients and helping them be the best pet parents to their special pets. At home, Dr. Ayscue has a cat, Chico, a lab-pointer, Jackson, and a leopard tortoise, Sudan.

Dr. McKenzie graduated from UF College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2007. She enjoys horseback riding, reading, travel, and time with her family. She has two pugs â?? Auggie and Rocco, a cat â?? Stinky, and a horse â?? Misty. She has always enjoyed science and medicine, but she turned towards veterinary medicine after spending a day with an equine vet. She enjoys the interactions and bond between owners and their pets. Her interests include soft tissue surgery, dermatology, internal medicine, and pediatrics.

Dr. Kimberly Donovan is an Associate Veterinarian and Medical Director at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 1997. Ever since, she has practiced high-quality animal medicine with professional interests in feline medicine and dermatology. A vital aspect of Dr. Donovan�s veterinary ideology is her commitment to helping pet owners maintain and cherish the irreplaceable bond they have with their pets. At home, Dr. Donovan has many pets of her own, including two canines, three felines, and a Sun Conure bird.

Dr. Karen Tyndall earned her degree in veterinary medicine from North Carolina State University. She had dreams of becoming a veterinarian since she was a little kid, and when she was 18 years old she started working in the veterinary field. Today, Dr. Tyndall is an exceptional veterinarian with a huge heart for all of her furry patients. She is especially good at handling and relaxing pets with fear aggression. At home, Dr. Tyndall has a handsome, 6-year-old cat named Riley who she absolutely adores.

Dr. Marie Raver obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University in 2014. She started practicing at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital in January 2017. While earning her degree, Dr. Raver was a member of the Student Chapter of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Dental Society, and Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Prior to joining the team at Oakhurst, Dr. Raver practiced high-quality animal medicine at Banfield Pet Hospital in the St. Petersburg area. Dr. Raver is also an active member of the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association, and supports her favorite local rescue group that serves dogs with special needs, LoveyLoaves Sanctuary. In her free time, Dr. Raver enjoys playing indoor volleyball, running, watching Harry Potter, and spending time with her many dogs and cats.
