Savjit Gurm
Savjit Gurm

Growing up in Punjab, India was a memorable experience in many ways for Dr. Savjit Gurm. He attributes his interest in veterinary care to fond memories with his first dog, Charlie. "Growing up with Charlie was one of the most wonderful experiences in my life," he said. As the owner of Madison Street Animal Hospital, Dr. Gurm strives to provide high quality health care for pets, informative education to pet owners on preventive care and superior veterinary services.

Dr. Gurm earned his undergraduate degree in veterinary science and animal husbandry at Punjab Agricultural University in India. While there, he received an award in clinical excellence and spent his extracurricular time participating on the university cricket team. He began his studies in veterinary medicine at Punjab Agricultural University but later transferred and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Gurm's professional interests include internal medicine, neurology, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, orthopedics and diagnostic imaging. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Gurm enjoys working out, traveling, watching movies and college/professional sports, and spending time with his family and friends.

Chris Hsu
Chris Hsu

Dr. Chris Hsu grew up in Taiwan with a wide variety of pets, including mice, frogs, dogs, cats, and a tree lizard. He earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 from Taiwan University, followed by his final clinical year of hid DVM at Oklahoma State University in 2010. He is a member of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association and his professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, Diagnostic imaging including ultrasound imaging, emergency, critical care and wellness Veterinary medicine.
Dr. Hsu is very active in keeping himself abreast of all the new techniques and procedures in Veterinary Medicine. He enjoys his work with the fact that he has impact on helping other lives on daily basis.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking, swimming, and watching movies.

Katharine Chan
Katharine Chan

Dr. Chan always dreamed of getting into Veterinary Medicine and working with animals since she was little. She even thought about being a zookeeper just to stay close to animals and take care of them.
Dr. Chan was born in Philadephia. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and earned her bachelor's degree in biology in 2004. She was an active member of the Alpha Kappa Delta Phi sorority at U of Penn. She was also an active member of University of Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, volunteered and worked as a technician at its Veterinary Teaching hospital's emergency services. Then she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. During her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Chan received multiple scholarships and special recognition for her academics and excellence in emergency medicine. Dr. Chan strongly believes in community outreach programs in veterinary medicine and she was awarded the Lifelong Learning Award by the California Veterinary Medical Association for the same reason. Dr. Chan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and her professional interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, neurology and ophthalmology.
Dr. Chan loves to build long term relationships with clients and their pets. She understands her responsibility as a Veterinarian and as a somebody who educates her clients and staff on daily basis, for best possible pet care.
Dr. Chan lives in Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle, with her husband Barry, a structural engineer, their two cats, Jack and Ginny, and their dog, Fillmore. Fillmore is a regular blood donor at Seattle's Animal Critical Care and Emergency Services.
When she's not working, Dr. Chan enjoys food, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Monica Tine

Dr. Tine grew up in Uncasville, Connecticut. She always had a soft spot in her heart for dogs and cats, and knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian someday. She attended the University of Connecticut and was the president of the Pre-Veterinary Club while there. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Pathobiology and a minor in Business Administration. Then, she traveled to the mid-west where she attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University for 4 years. She was on the executive board of the Veterinary Business Management Association and the Student Chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners during veterinary school.
Dr. Tine is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Puget Sound Veterinary Medical Association. Her professional interests include emergency medicine, surgery, and internal medicine. Dr. Tine is very excited to have joined the Madison Street Animal Hospital where the health and well being of the patients is the biggest priority.
