Leesville Animal Hospital is a premier, small animal practice located in Northwest Raleigh. Established in 1988 by Dr. Harold Pearce, in a 2200 sq. ft. location, we have grown to the current 12,000 sq. ft. with a full team of doctors and support staff specializing in medicine, surgery and additional expansions for boarding, grooming, and aquatic rehabilitation and daycare services. We are also able to provide a wide range of wellness, surgical and rehabilitative procedures and therapies for your pet.
In addition to our services within the hospital, we also support several elementary and middle schools through donations and by providing field trip tours for schools and Girl Scout/Boy Scout organizations. We are proud to give back to the community that has been so supportive of us.
We, here at Leesville Animal Hospital believe in giving back to the community through supporting local organizations such as the Doberman Rescue Organization, as well as servicing our local fire department’s Dalmatians by providing services such as training, feeding programs and wellness programs.

Dr. Harold Pearce grew up on a rural farm in Southern Illinois and was exposed early on to a variety of animals necessary to farm life. As a child he developed a love and empathy for the animals and provided the care needed to sustain the well-being of them.
As a teenager he spent time with the only veterinarian in his small town and realized early on the satisfaction associated with helping all animals. This led to his pursuit of a career in veterinary medicine and a lifetime of healthcare in the field.
After graduating from the University of Illinois in 1984 Dr. Pearce relocated to Goldsboro NC to practice for 2 years in a mixed large and small animal hospital before moving to Cary NC to focus on exclusively small animal medicine and surgery. In 1988 He opened Leesville Animal Hospital with a single assistant and has grown to one of the largest animal hospitals in Raleigh with 3 full time veterinarians and a staff of 23.
He is married and resides with his wife, 3 dogs and a cat. His son Ryan and daughter Chandler are currently enrolled in college. Hobbies include golf, tennis and spending time with his family.
Dr. Amy W. Neligon joined Leesville Animal Hospital in May of 2005. She is originally from Wethersfield, CT. On how she became a veterinarian, Dr. Neligon said she "knew at a young age that animals would play an important role in my life."
She attended the University of New Hampshire and received her B.S. in Biology in 1997. She graduated Magna Cum Laude. She worked at the Wethersfield Animal Health Clinic in 1996-'97 and here at Leesville Animal Hospital, in 1998 before being accepted to veterinary school. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Stillwater OK in 2004.
Dr. Neligon has special professional interests in internal medicine, general surgery, dermatology, and animal behavior. She is a member of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Neligon takes pleasure in helping pets and their owners, and carries many memories with her, such as the time she performed her first C-section as a solo practitioner that resulted in three healthy pups, or hearing the relieved laughter of a client after safely removing such objects as a pacifier from a dog's intestine.
Dr. Neligon is married and she and her husband Jeffrey share their home with Cody, a Jack Russell terrier; Samantha, a long-haired cat; and a fish named Roezilla. She spends her down time enjoying a nice cup of coffee, catching up with the latest James Patterson novel, and spending quality time with their three children and family.
