The staff of Lake Emma Animal Hospital will strive to promote and preserve the human-animal bond that exists between our clients and their pets.
We are dedicated to providing the best care and education to keep pets safe, happy, and healthy for many years to come.
We will provide a clean facility, a friendly and helpful staff, and caring Veterinarians, as well as preventive medicine, surgery, dentistry, and boarding.
We will provide quality, compassionate care for all of our patients and treat each of them as if they were our own.
Dr. Dee is originally from New Hampshire, and although he still misses the mountains and the foliage, he has learned to love Florida's sunshine and beaches.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts and his D.V.M from The University of Florida.
After practicing emergency medicine for several years, he returned to general practice, opening Lake Emma Animal Hospital in 1989.
His free time is primarily devoted to his teenage son, Alex, who is a competitive swimmer.
When not at swim meets Dr. Dee's hobbies include sailing and target shooting. At home he cares for an assortment of pets; 2 Dachshunds, 2 cats, and about 50 ducks.
Dr. Blake graduated from the University of Florida in 1998 with High Honors. From 1998-1999, he completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Illinois in Champagne-Urbana. After his internship, he moved to Orlando and worked at a small animal practice in SE Orlando. In December of 2005, he started working at Lake Emma Animal Hospital. His interests include neurology, and internal medicine.
Dr. Blake is married to his lovely wife, Stacy, who is also a veterinarian. He is the proud father of Noah Alexander who was born in November of 2006 and Ella Josephine who was born in September of 2009. His other family members include three cats: Abbey, Maggie, and Little Man.
When not working, he enjoys: family time, snorkeling, Xbox 360 and exercise when possible.
Dr. Kendig has worked for Lake Emma Animal Hospital since 1993. He started volunteering in the kennel. He then started working as a technician in 1997. Dr. Kendig graduated with a degree in Animal Science from the University of Florida. Soon after he attended and graduated from Mississippi State College of Veterinarry Medicine in May of 2007.
In his spare time Dr. Kendig enjoys long distance running, weight lifting, reading, watching movies and taking his dogs for long walks. He has run multiple marathons and several ultramarathons.
At home he has 3 dogs Ginger, Trixie, and Lexi. Ginger is a Cocker Spaniel that he rescued from a Cocker Spaniel Rescue group, Lexi is an extremely energetic Shepherd/Hound mix that was his Sophmore surgery dog at Mississippi that he didn't want to see go back to the pound, and Trixie is a loving Terrier Mix that he adopted from one of our local shelters. Also, Dr. Kendig has a Domestic Shorthaired cat named Norm, whom he also adopted from one of our local shelters.

Dr. Groberg joined our staff in June of 2011. She graduated from UCF with a B.S. in Biology in 1997. Then she went on to UF Veterinary School and graduated in 2001.
For the past 10 years Dr. Groberg practiced medicine in a feline exclusive practice, but she is excited to add dogs to level of experience.
In her spare time she enjoys reading scrapbooking, watching movies, and spending time with her husband and their 2 beautiful daughters.
At home she has 2 dogs Lilo and Stitch and 4 cats Joy, Jewel, Nacho and Fiona the three-legged wonder cat.
