Cynthia H. Harker, DVM

Our current Chief of Staff, Dr. Harker, has been at the Crofton Veterinary Center for over 4 years. She grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, and currently resides in Shady Side, Maryland. She received her undergraduate degree from Emory University 1997 and her DVM from North Carolina State University in 2002. After veterinary school Dr. Harker undertook a one-year internship at Cornell University in small animal medicine and surgery and then spent a few years working at a large emergency facility.

Dr. Harker's medical interests include neurology, internal medicine, cardiology and soft tissue surgery. She strongly believes in providing the highest quality medicine for her clients and their pets. We feel so lucky to have such a caring and experienced Chief of Staff treating our beloved patients here at Crofton Veterinary Center! Outside of work Dr. Harker likes to play volleyball, kayak, travel, read and play Frisbee with her adorable Border collie, Kensey.

Rachel Klickman,DVM

Dr. Klickman has been part of the Crofton Veterinary Center team since July of 2008. Hailing from Oregon, she now happily resides in Pasadena, Maryland. She pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and her veterinary studies at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her DVM in 2007. Prior to joining us, she completed an internship at the Anne Arundel Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Annapolis. She enjoys establishing close relationships with her clients and their pets.

Dr. Klickman has special interest in exotic medicine (small mammals), geriatric care, and dermatology. Her pastimes outside of work include reading, gardening, tinkering with her pond, and cooking. She also loves spending time with her many pets: three dogs named Pixie, Alice, and Evie, two cats named Guiness and Tiger, a three-legged rescued box turtle named Trike, and pond fish!

Anne Maxson,DVM

Dr. Maxson is the newest addition to Crofton Veterinary Center, joining us in May 2009. Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, she now happily resides in Baltimore, Maryland. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Duke University and her veterinary studies at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, earning her DVM in 2003. Prior to joining us, she has practiced at Falls Road Animal Hospital, Annapolis Cat Hospital and Bay Ridge Animal Hospital. She also volunteered at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore for several years.

Dr. Maxson has special interest in internal medicine and surgery. She believes in working together with her clients to provide a long lasting, healthy and enjoyable human-pet relationship. In her spare time she enjoys running, gourmet cooking, traveling, mountain biking/touring and reading (especially the New York Times and The New Yorker). She also loves snuggling up to her cat Olive, a little black kitty she adopted from the BARCS Animal Shelter!
