Laurie McCabe, DVM
Laurie McCabe, DVM

Laurie received her undergraduate associate degree from University of South Dakota-Springfield in Biotechnology in 1981, and her undergraduate degree from South Dakota State University with a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences in 1985. She then went on to graduate from Iowa State University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1992, and began her work as a Veterinarian at Harris Pet Hospital in Paddock Lake, WI. In 1993, she moved into the Milwaukee area and began working at Burleigh Road Animal Hospital. In 2002, she bought the practice from the previous owner, Dr. Thomas Christie, and has been happily overseeing the hospital since that time. Laurie enjoys spending time with Rodger, scuba-diving, hiking, and entertaining her two dogs (Ice and Renegade) and three cats (Zeb, Tango, and Kit).

Lisa Schultz, DVM
Lisa Schultz, DVM

Lisa completed her pre-veterinary undergraduate work at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1993, and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She began her work as a Veterinarian at Burleigh Road Animal Hospital in June of 1997, and has a special interest in Internal Medicine. Lisa enjoys camping, photography, Zumba, and spending time with her husband Paul, her dog (Sierra) and cats (Jade and Kayla).

Joanne Carpentier, DVM
Joanne Carpentier, DVM

Dr. Carpentier graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She worked at Burleigh Road Animal Hospital from 1992 until 1993. She then opened her own veterinary hospital in Waukesha for the next 16 years. She joined our team again in April 2009. Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Carpentier worked in human medical radiology and nuclear medicine. She enjoyed working in the medical field and went back to school to become a veterinarian so that she could combine her love of medicine with animals. During her free time, Dr. Carpentier enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, walking, jogging, and enjoying time with her family and friends.

Dr. Lara Berland
Dr. Lara Berland

Dr. Berland is a Milwaukee native and excited to be back in her hometown! She earned her bachelor�s degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, then her veterinary degree from Ross University in St Kitts, finishing up with clinical rotations at the University of Florida. Dr. Berland then returned to the Midwest to spend a year practicing emergency and critical care at a local referral hospital. In her free time, Dr. Berland enjoys sailing and scuba diving in Lake Michigan, rock climbing, and cross country skiing. She became a veterinarian because it combines her love of animals with an interest in practicing progressive, high-quality medicine.
