Dr. Beres obtained his DVM degree from Colorado State University in 1994. Originally from Ohio but raised in Phoenix, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona.
Dr. Beres joined Banfield in 1996,and prior to Banfield, he practiced veterinary medicine at a privately owned small animal clinic in the Phoenix area.
Dr. Beres is committed to delivering high quality veterinary medicine; his approach is to treat each pet as if it was his own. His professional interests include general surgery and dentistry.
Dr. Beres is passionate about animal rescue and spay/neuter; all of his pets are rescue animals. His furry family members include cats (Xero, Thursday, Sweet Pea, Simon); and a dog (Cookie). Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Beres is a sports and music buff who enjoys travelling, fishing, scuba diving, video games, and spending time with his wife and son.
Dr. Jennifer Colmar is a native Arizonan who graduated Vet school from Colorado State University in 1995. Dr. Colmar has been practicing in Arizona since graduating from Vet school. She has enjoyed working Banfield the Pet Hospital for the last 17 years.
Her primary interest are cats and dogs. She has been married for over 24 years and has a beautiful daughter who is in 9th grade.
She is honored to share her home with 4 cats named Prince Charming, Little Guy, Grrr, Ben and Oliver. Her hobbies include reading, rock climbing and spending time with friends and family.
Chief of Staff:
After attending asu for her undergraduate degree, Dr. Thompson went on to receive her DVM from Western University of Health Sciences in 2008. While she enjoys most facets of veterinary medicine, Dr. Thompson has a special interest in animal rescue/shelter medicine. She shares her home with a menagerie of rescued animals including dogs, cats, horses, a tortoise and pot belly pigs. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her animals, hiking and biking.
Dr. Swaneth (Suny) Portalatin is originally from Puerto Rico, but moved to Arizona after graduating veterinary school from Ross University in 2006. Dr. Suny has a passion for surgery and a strong interest in animal rescue. She is involved with the Arizona Humane Society and other valley rescues. She shares her home with 5 rescue cats and a green iguana. When not working, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and traveling.
